String Teachers

Drew Osborn - String Bass / Voice / Piano / Brass / Woodwind

I was the first chair bassist in the symphonic orchestra at Bentonville High School. I am attending the University of Arkansas where I play in the symphony and major in bass performance. I play several instruments but bass is what I am gifted at, and am in love with.

Katie Priest - Beginning to Advance Violin / Beginning Viola / Beginning Cello

Katie is a Music Education and Violin Performance Major at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, AR. She is 27 years old and has been playing the violin for 16 years. She is a member of the Arkansas Philharmonic Orchestra as well as the University of Arkansas Symphony Orchestra.

Katie has worked with several groups around the Northwest Arkansas area, including the Fayetteville after school string program at Vandergriff Elementary in Fayetteville and the Fayetteville Fiddle Choir, headed up by Mary Haley. Currently, she is studying violin and viola with Dr. Er-Gene Kahng at the UofA. My previous violin teachers have included Rossitza Jekova-Goza (former violin professor at the UofA) and Christopher Pinkston of Fort Smith, Arkansas. She has studied many different styles of music, including classical, country-western/bluegrass (fiddle), rock and jazz. Next semester (Spring) Katie will be student teaching in one of the surrounding Northwest Arkansas public schools. She is a Taurus. :)
